I know you are, but what am I?
I paint to release the energy of life and emotion. Some of my work is small, careful, and intentional. My large pieces instead begin with mark making and drive hard toward pure expression. Multiple layers develop and evolve over days or weeks, changing with my thoughts and often growing more abstract.
I work in acrylic, watercolor, and sometimes, oil, and experimentation is key. In abstractions, I increasingly prefer a result that is more suggestion than statement, offering the observer space and encouragement for imagination and interpretation.
